  • Peter taught me to always keep working no matter what the situation was, winning or losing. I also learned to always keep the ball moving and to never hold the ball in one area for too long. The years Peter coached me were the most enjoyable and successful few years of my Abbey Villa SC career.
    Jared Bull
U15-U18 Abbey Villa Soccer Club, Bryant University
  • Peter Motzenbecker is one of the best coaches I have had throughout my soccer career. As a young coach, he is able to not only supply a verbal demonstration of how to participate in drills, but he is able to give a visual demonstration as well. He does not only cares about his players as soccer players on his team and how to get them to play their best in the moment, but he also supplies aid for their futures. For example, he was able to get me connections with a scout overseas in Europe to help my dream of becoming a professional soccer player within my own reach. Overall, Peter has only had a positive impact in my life, and continues to have one as I pursue my dream career.
    Kyle Papulis
U15-U18 Abbey Villa Soccer Club, UMASS Amherst
  • I worked with Peter for two years when we both were technical directors at the same club. We have kept in touch since that time, Peter's opinions on all matters related to soccer are something that I value greatly. He has had a tremendous influence on my career as I have learned much from him in regards to coaching in training and games, how to handle sensitive situations with players and parents and how to impart my knowledge to players I coach. Peter has a unique ability to develop his teams into cohesive, effective units who play a highly technical, exciting style of attacking soccer while also empowering his players to find their own solutions and allow their creativity to flourish. Peter has always shown himself to be fully invested in doing what is best for each player he coaches. He is always looking for new methods, always looking to improve himself and is of the most thoughtful and knowledgeable coaches I have had the pleasure of meeting.
    Thomas Pinzone
former AVSC Girls Technical Director, NSCAA + USSF Licensed Coach
  • Peter and I worked together at Abbey Villa Soccer Club for around 4 years. I thoroughly enjoyed my time working with Peter, and came to know him as a truly valuable asset to AVSC. He is honest, reliable, and hard-working. His ability to connect with the children and help their training at all levels has always impressed me. Peter began his career as a staff coach with AVSC and quickly worked his way up to be Boys Technical Director. Peter was able to do this by showing a passion and dedication to coaching, while demonstrating an extremely high soccer IQ. Peter has been an absolute joy to work with. He is a true team player, and has been a big part in the overall growth of the club.
